Hello Spring, Goodbye Clutter

It’s my favorite time of year! The weather is fantastic, flowers are all in bloom, and it’s a great time to tackle some Spring cleaning. Use this season to inspire yourself to finally take on the decluttering project that you’ve been avoiding, or refresh and update your decor for the new year.

One of my Spring cleaning rituals is going through storage areas that aren’t seen regularly (guest bedrooms, closets, and laundry room) and getting rid of items that are no longer needed or desired. In the moment we tend to hold onto items because we think we may need them in the future, they were gifts, or we shove them into storage because we’re not sure what to do with them. Once it’s been a year (or more) and you’ve still not found use or true home for the stored items, it makes it much easier to get rid of them and free up space in your home. Remember that as time passes, our tastes and needs evolve, making items we once thought we needed no longer relevant. It’s OK to move on from old items. Your home should only be filled with what makes you happy and serves your current needs, not “maybe I’ll use it” or never used gifts.
